Billy Miller, an actor who played Billy Abbott on “The Young and the Restless” and was known to soap opera fans, has died. He passed away on September 15, 2023, two days before his 44th birthday.

Billy Miller’s mother confirmed that his cause of death was suicide. Billy Miller’s manager posted a statement on Twitter in which Patricia Miller said that her son had bipolar disorder and that in the end, the illness won the battle.

She wrote:

“He fought a long hard valiant battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease, He loved his family, his friends and his fans but in the end the disease won the fight and he surrendered his life.”

How did Celebrities Pay Tribute to Billy Miller?

After Billy Miller’s sudden death, the show “The Young and the Restless” is giving tribute to him. Miller played Billy Abbott from 2008 to 2014 and at the end of Thursday’s, September 21 episode, his best moments on the show were put together in a video.

The long-running daily soap ended with a black-and-white picture of the actor who had died and the words “1979-2023.”

Later, the official Young and the Restless Twitter account posted the honour on Twitter and wrote in the caption of the video, “To end today’s episode we paid tribute to a greatly missed member of the Y&R family. Billy Miller will forever be in our hearts.”

Jon Lindstrom, who played “General Hospital” characters Kevin Collins and Ryan Chamblerain said that Miller always made him laugh.

Miller and Eileen Davidson both had roles in “The Young and the Restless.” Eileen Davidson tweeted a picture of the two of them at a Daytime Emmy party and wrote, “His infectious charm and warmth left lasting impressions on all of us who were lucky enough to have him in our lives.”

Miller’s first role on a soap show was as Richie Novak on “All My Children” in 2007. He was on the show for a year before he moved on to “The Young and the Restless.”

In 2010, 2013 and 2014, he won three Daytime Emmys for his role as the rude playboy Billy Abbott. He was in 719 episodes of the CBS series drama, and he worked on it until 2014.

When Miller started playing Jason Morgan/Drew Cain on “General Hospital” the next year, he was nominated for another Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Main Actor in a Drama Series. He left the ABC show after 592 episodes.

Miller also had regular roles on “Suits,” “Ray Donovan,” and “Truth Be Told.” He was also in “American Sniper,” which was nominated for an Oscar in 2014. He had a small part on “NCIS” in the year 2022.
